Myopic McFlunkey will do anything for ratings, largely because he excels at mediocrity and any slight uptick in ratings will feed his narcissist ego.

Like any well trained “pet” the FMDA’s barking dog at the Fargo Forum and WDAY exhibited his long standing disdain for Collin Peterson in his latest rant (read more…) wherein any voice of opposition is characterized as being heretical.

What McFlounder missed in his entire article is a long history of the MN DNR politely warning Fargo that they needed to cooperate and comply with the MN DNR process or they may not get authorization from Minnesota to proceed.

There are two separate injunctions against the (FMDA) Fargo Dam and FM Diversion project, one affirmed by the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals (read more…).

On July 8th, 2016 – the MN DNR expressed “real and significant regulatory issues” (read more…) that are outstanding in Minnesota concerning the proposed Fargo-Moorhead Diversion Project. The FMDA cult – flaunted their arrogance, mislead decision makers in Washington DC, disregarded the MN DNR and defiantly signed the PPA on July 11, 2016 without the necessary Minnesota permit(s). Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton expressed his concern in a July 15, 2016 letter to Shaun Donovan, (read more…) Office of Management and Budget – citing that the “Fargo-Moorhead project as proposed presents very significant issues relative to our threshold permit regulations.”

In August 2016, the FMDA began a public relations campaign that further disregarded Minnesota and its sovereign permitting authority in the FMDA project which resulted in another letter on September 1, 2016 from Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton (read more…) citing that “it was inconceivable to me (Dayton) that General Semonite did not also request an opportunity to meet with Minnesota.”

On October 3rd, 2016 – the MN DNR denied the FMDA permit application and released a comprehensive 56 page Findings of Fact (read more…) detailing why the FMDA permit was denied.

On October 6, 2016 – McFibber completely misrepresented the MN DNR permit denial (read more…) and manufactured inflammatory quotes.

On October 18th, 2016 – Tom Landwehr, MN DNR further clarified that “we cannot have a genuine search for a “Plan B” if the Diversion Authority and Army Corps are simultaneously initiating construction on their current proposal.” (read more…)

The FMDA continued to disregard the MN DNR, jumped the permit process, cruelly harassed and trespassed on private property and began destroying farmland while commencing work on the inlet structure without proper authorization.

Both the MN DNR and Richland Wilkin JPA filed for Preliminary Injunction (read more…) and Fargo, Cass County, USACE and the FMDA continued their efforts to create sunk costs in an attempt to ‘steamroll’ opposition to the project.

On June 2, 2017 – Tom Landwehr, MN DNR, ended talks with the FMDA indicated that the FMDA and USACE were “…beyond acting in bad faith (read more…); indeed, the continuation of construction is an insult to collaboration.”

On September 7, 2017 – U.S. District Judge John Tunheim handed down this ruling: (read more…) “The Corps and the Diversion Authority and all other individuals or entities acting in concert with the Corps and the Diversion Authority shall cease and desist all construction work on the Fargo-Moorhead flood risk management project until further order of the court.”

Shortly after the first Task Force Meeting, McFairydust used his column and radio slot (read more…) to assail diversion opponents and marginalize their efforts to forge an alternative to the project that was denied a Minnesota permit.

From October 2017 to March 2018, the Governors Task Force, Technical and Policy Leadership Groups met in efforts to find a permit-able project, however, the FMDA and USACE were actively trying to re-litigate the project that was denied a permit rather that being actively engaged in finding a sensible alternative.

Sadly, the FMDA refused to evaluate and include project alternatives (read more…) that would reduce water level in the staging area over 5 feet and the project footprint to around 49,000 acres – but instead, chose to increase the project footprint and impacts to over 76,000 acres.

At 8:01 pm on March 7, more than 15 hours before the final Policy Leadership Group meeting began (read more…), McFalloverhimselfsupportingthediversion was blathering on about an updated diversion plan that was concocted several hours prior in executive session without any input from the MN DNR or Richland Wilkin JPA representatives.

In true Imperial Fargo, Imperial Cass style ~ on March 8, 2018 Fargo Mayor, Tim Mahoney – FMDA, handed to Tom Landwehr and others on the Policy Leadership Groups a copy of the FMDA “Plan B press release” without further input and before the final meeting was concluded.

The most indelible point is that the FMDA arbitrarily and capriciously wrote their press release without reaching a group consensus from all stakeholder parties at the table ~ as to what “Plan B” should be.

That is beyond bad faith and McFoolem’ has the temerity to claim that “we are in a much better place than we were last summer.”

So McFizzle…, keep grilling up the “sizzle” with your “nothing-burgers” laced with poison, you’re only harming the FMDA agenda…
