Having watched the movie “Lincoln” again and living through the transgressions of Imperial Fargo, Imperial Cass in their contrived land grab under the guise of flood protection, a portion of the Gettysburg Address really outlined how unprincipled Imperial Fargo, Imperial Cass have become.
Fargo and Cass county are almost to the point of being the antonym to the very principles that most Americans hold near and dear.
The American principle is:
“…government
of the people,
by the people,
for the people,
shall not perish from the earth…”
The Imperial Fargo, Imperial Cass principle is:
“…government
of Imperial Fargo – Cass,
by Imperial Fargo – Cass,
for Imperial Fargo – Cass,
willfully ignoring peoples rights…”
It does not matter how verbose Fargo’s tier 1 and tier 2 expansion plan is, or how well designed the proposed communities may be, it still boils down to intentional encroachment into the last natural flood plain that provides flood protection benefit to Fargo.
Founding fathers understood that owning land is a fundamental part of freedom. Without it, you are indentured to pay rent for your entire lifetime to those that hold title to said land and subject to their whims. Despite the political differences and lives lost between north and south over secession and slavery, the north was still willing to respect the southern states and work toward reconstruction that preserved southern states identities.
Imperial Fargo, Imperial Cass have willfully chosen this land grab, involved the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, co-opted state legislators for funding and hired public relations firms and project managers to manipulate every possible angle to deny opposition their voice, vote and right to redress the aggressive project that places Fargo’s water issues onto the back of property owners outside Fargo’s jurisdictional boundaries with the temerity to tax visitors for what Fargo is unwilling to pay for themselves.
Albeit, Imperial Fargo and Imperial Cass county actions may be unjust, however, there is a simple reason why they get by with being the essence of unprincipled America.
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil
is for good men to do nothing.” ― Edmund Burke
Imperial Fargo, Imperial Cass via the Fargo Diversion Authority have usurped tax dollars without any legal vote of by the landowners or Cass county taxpayers to commence construction of the $70+ million dollar OHB project, which includes a brand new clubhouse, new swimming pool, relocation of non-profit shareholder golf course holes and a large portion of Oxbow that currently exists above the 100 year flood plain.
By doing nothing, evil is condoned by silence and inaction. Yet, good can be accomplished by taking a few minutes of time and let decision makers know that expecting Minnesota to surrender state rights and suffer impacts caused by Imperial Fargo, Imperial Cass expansion is morally unprincipled.
