“You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.” – Abraham Lincoln.

Fargo Public Relations Scam
Diversion Authority Making Plans to Control Perception

The Fargo Forum story (Feb. 14, 2013) relates “Diversion officials are worried they are losing the battle of public opinion.”

“’The people who have no data are winning the argument.’ says Clay County Commissioner Kevin Campbell.”

The problem for The Diversion Authority is not the inability to get the message out. The Fargo Forum and the Public Relations group are getting the message out, but the public is not buying the message.

The same old story “blame the messenger not the message” and work harder and spend more money pushing the same old flawed message. They even considered hiring more public relations consultants.

“’The plan is start using whatever we can to get the message out,’ said Rodger Olson, a Diversion Authority member.”

The public is hearing the message from those citizens in the impacted areas. They are talking to their state legislators, giving them the message: provide the money for the intown levees, but not to move flood waters to flood others.

The Diversion Authority will be hard pressed to hear the message they don’t want to hear.

  1. Just remember, Roger “they’re putting out misinformation” Olson but couldn’t come up with what the misinformation was or who it was coming from.

  2. I think it is becoming apparent that Rodger Olson and his confederates have had the tables turned on them.

These are the people who tried to sell a 12 mile wide high hazard dam as a “control structure”, an 80 square mile reservoir as a “temporary staging area”, the greatest flood in recorded history, the 09 flood, as only a “50 year flood,” and 2 billion dollar development plan as a “flood control project”.

These are the people that, in order to make their boondoggle pencil out, claim that FEMA has it all wrong and that the 100 year flood plain in Fargo should be 42.5 feet. But when FEMA changes its definition of the 100 year flood plain from 38.5 to 39.5 they whine, complain and then appeal!

    You can’t trust these guys.
